High School Coaching Staff

 

 

Head Coach - Cory Leenders

Coach Leenders currently serves as the Varsity Head Coach of Timberline Lacrosse. Leenders joined Timberline as the head JV coach in 2019 before being promoted to Varsity Head Coach in 2023. In his first year as Varsity Head Coach, Timberline won the 2023 Idaho “AA” State Championship. Coach Leenders played lacrosse at Wenatchee High School in Wenatchee, WA as a midfielder. He earned 1st team All-State honors his Sophomore, Junior and Senior years in high school. Coach Leenders graduated from Boise State University in 2019 with a degree in Civil Engineering. He has been coaching lacrosse since 2015 and is heavily involved with lacrosse in the area and currently officiates lacrosse at the youth and collegiate levels outside of coaching.

 

 

 

 

Asst Coach (Defense) - David Manning

Coach Manning joined Timberline Lacrosse in 2020 and currently serves as the Varsity Defensive Coordinator. Coach Manning played lacrosse at Carlsbad High School in Carlsbad, CA as a defender. After high school, he played lacrosse at Boise State University earning All-Conference honors his Sophomore, Junior and Senior years. Coach Manning graduated from Boise State University in 2018 with a degree in Business Entrepreneurship.



Asst Coach (Attack) - A.J. Gravel

Coach Gravel joined Timberline Lacrosse in 2024 and currently serves as an assistant coach on the high school team. Gravel played lacrosse at Centennial High School in Meridian, ID as an attackman. He earned All-State honors his sophomore, junior, and senior year of high school along with being awarded the 2012 USA Lacrosse Bob Scott Award his senior year for excellence on and off the field. After high school Gravel played lacrosse as an attackman at Adams State University from 2012-2014 and the University of Idaho from 2014-2016 where he was a team captain his senior year. Gravel graduated from the University of Idaho in 2016 with a degree in Exercise Science and Health and a masters degree in Public Health from Boise State University in 2021. Gravel served as a board member of the University of Idaho Vandal Lacrosse from 2016-2019 and helped form a new lacrosse league in Walla Walla, WA where he was a youth lacrosse coach from 2017-2019. Coach Gravel returned to the Treasure Valley in 2019 and coached for his alma mater as the head coach for Centennial High School from 2019-2022 before joining Timberline in 2024.

 

Asst Coach (Goalies) - Carson Bungay

Coach Bungay joined Timberline Lacrosse in 2023 and currently serves as the program’s goalie coach. He played lacrosse at Bella Vista High School in Fair Oaks, CA as a goalie. After high school, Coach Bungay played lacrosse at Boise State University and was a four-year starter at the goalie position and earned All-Conference honors his sophomore year. Bungay graduated from Boise State University in 2020 with a degree in civil engineering.

 

Asst Coach (Faceoff) - Owen Gerhard

Coach Gerhard joined Timberline Lacrosse in 2023 and currently serves as an assistant coach on the high school team and also the program’s faceoff coach. Gerhard played lacrosse at Vista del Lago High School in Folsom, CA as a midfielder. After high school, Gerhard played lacrosse at Boise State University at faceoff and midfield and was a captain on the team his senior year. Gerhard graduated from Boise State University in 2023 with a degree in business administration and a minor in marketing.
